I love winter parties. When I was pregnant with my first baby, I had a winter themed baby shower. There’s something so beautiful about the combination of snowflakes and icy blue. It’s actually a perfect theme for any type of party in the winter. You can use it for a baby shower, a first birthday (think "Winter ONEderland"), and especially for adult birthdays.
When I saw the Winter Garden theme collection, I fell in love with it. How gorgeous are these products with their birch trees and icy gates? It’s such a different spin on the typical winter party. Today I am going to show you how to take these beautiful products from Shindigz and a few items from the grocery store and turn that into the icy party of your dreams!
My backdrop for the party was this HUGE Winter Garden Trees background. I love how the trees look three dimensional. This was the perfect backdrop for my main party table. To dress up my table, I used a simple white tablecloth and then added this white tulle table skirt. I love the flowy, ethereal quality that the tulle skirt gives the table. It makes the table look like it’s floating on the snow. As a table topper, I used teal floral sheeting, which perfectly coordinated with the sparkly blue leaves on the backdrop.
One each side of the table, I added the Winter Garden Fencing Prop. I love that it looks like a gate to enter the party. As another option, you could also use this as a backdrop too! These were so easy to put together and even my 5 year old thought they were very cool! And it’s not a winter party without snowflakes, so I added some fun oversized Shimmering Snowflakes to the front of the table. To bring in the birch theme, I added tall vases on either side of the table that were filled with some "snow" (polyester fiberfill) and Faux Birch Branch Bundles.
I love showing readers how to take every day grocery store items and elevate them into something special for your party. For this party, everything was purchased directly from the grocery store! It’s really that easy!
Every birthday needs cake, so I picked up these simple white and gray cupcakes in the bakery section of my grocery store. They already had the snowflake toppers! Always look in the seasonal aisles of your grocery store or big box store. You’d be surprised how many times I have found the perfect item for my party right there! I displayed them on a white metal cake stand from my own collection.
Powdered donuts were an obvious choice, because of the white "snow!" I use donuts A LOT for my parties. Everyone loves them and they come in so many fun colors and flavors. And this party had to have snowballs!! Hostess Snowballs that is! I dressed them up a little bit with some premade iced toppers that I also got at the grocery store. How easy and cute!
