I was so excited when my good friend Kristi told me she was pregnant with her 4th baby. They were expecting a little girl and I jumped at the chance to host a shower for her. I’ve always wanted to throw a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star shower. I sign the song to my girls every night at bedtime so it has a really special meaning to me. I was excited to team up with Shindigz for the shower because they offer so many great personalized products for this theme. Their color pallet was perfect with the mint green and gold. I loved that it was paired with navy blue which reminded me of the night sky and could work perfectly for a little boy theme as well. Since there was a little girl on the way though I paired it up with a light pink and it was so beautiful.
Guests were greeted at the front door with a Welcome to Kristi’s shower sign and I added some colorful balloons to set the tone for the décor. It just so happened to be raining on the day of the shower which it hardly ever does in Southern California so I was thankful the sign was made of vinyl so it could hold up in any weather. We had a beautiful Star Bar set up once the guests came in with a signature drink called The Dreamer. You just top some pink lemonade off with cool whip that reminds you of fluffy clouds and serve over ice. We offered a variety of juices and champagnes as well for some Mom-Mimosas along with fruit toppings.
We served brunch style food including a Bagel Bar & yummy yogurt parfaits. I added some gold glitter star cutouts to the end of our wooden spoons to give it an extra detail to tie into the theme. They looked great along side the themed plates that Shindigz has to offer. After everyone ate we played a fun trivia game and I passed out some star cutouts for everyone to write a wish for the new baby. It was such a sweet touch and something the mom can keep in the baby book as a keepsake.
For the desserts, I wanted to go all out. I wanted the table to look like a crib so I used some crib rails on the sides of the table that I had painted gold. A star backdrop and fluffy white tissue poms for clouds were the perfect touch. My favorite detail were the baby rattle cake pops that actually rattled! Yummy cupcakes in personalized wrappers added a great detail and coordinating plates and candy bar wrappers tied it all together.
