Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year. I just love how there are so many options for decorations and party themes. I throw my kids a party every year and this year I wanted to incorporate a little bit of everything from witches to ghosts to skeletons and, of course, pumpkins. I teamed with Shindigz to put together this kid-friendly party using their new Spooktacular line of décor--so many cute pieces to choose from with fun bright colors and bold designs. Plus, they have some great costumes that your kids will love.
I set up a spooky little kids’ table by layering a lime green tablecloth with a spider net overlay. I have these white stools from Ikea that I use all the time because you can dress them up in so many different ways. I had some custom covers made for them and covered the legs with Halloween socks found at the dollar store. It added such a fun touch. I love mixing different patterns and colors, so I paired striped napkins with a fun design on the paper plates and brought in some coordinating skull and pumpkin cups. A spooky, glittered tree centerpiece finished the kids’ table.
For drinks, I served some water decorated with themed cupcake liners, as well as a witch’s brew magic punch. I found this green witch nose that fit perfectly onto my drink dispenser, along with some eyeballs and a witch’s hat. The kids loved it! We ate yummy mummy dogs and apple monster mouths with some worm-infested popcorn munch on the side. Spider cupcakes and marshmallow ghosts rounded out the sweet treats. The kids played "Pin the Skull on the Skeleton" followed by some mummy bowling. The first one to score a strike got first dibs at the trick-or-treat bowl so they could fill up their Halloween tins to take home. It was such a fun party and the kids can’t wait to get dressed up again to go trick or treating.
