Tea Party by Julie Verville
Hi! I’m Julie Verville with Crowning Details here to share a sweet garden tea party with you, highlighting some of my favorite Shindigz products.
What little girl doesn’t love playing tea party!?! My inspiration for this party was mixing rustic elements with soft feminine details. I hope you love it as much as I do!
To add a feminine touch to the rustic backdrop, we added 6 modified tea time cutouts. We removed the base tea cup and saucer paper elements, and added to the chains creating 4 strands of 5 flowers, and 2 strands of 3 flowers.
The centerpiece of the table was a simple white textured buttercream cake, sitting on a light blue milk glass pedestal stand and adorned with a simple DIY paper teapot cake topper. We added a personalized sticker to the tea pot we borrowed from the tea time cutouts set, added a thin pink ribbon through the small punched hole, and then attached it to a food safe white stick.
To bring in some color to the table, we added the tea time pennant banner to the base of the table using straight pins (a great way to keep ribbon banners in place against fabric table cloths or skirts) to attach to the burlap ruffled table skirt.
For a touch of whimsy, we added bright pink hydrangeas in 2 non-traditional tea pots.
When adding décor items to main tables, I love utilizing items that can be reused later in the child’s room. We found this fun LED lit "N" to include on the main table for a bit more personalization.
For the seated children’s table, we kept things modern, streamlined and elegant. We layered 2 white paper tablecloths, overlapping at the center of the table, pulling down the sides and folding underneath the burlap table runner. This is a simple, affordable way to create a similar look to rented or fabric linens at a fraction of the cost. Our burlap ruffled linen pulled in both the base white linen and the tiered ruffle table skirt from the main table into the seated tables.
Two colorful tea cups & saucers filled with 2 single pink rose blooms sat to either side of the centerpiece, and to bring in additional color to the table, we placed tea time activity placemats at each guest’s seat.
We hope you enjoyed all of the fun details of our garden tea party!!
