Tea for Two is the perfect second birthday party theme for little girls!! With sunny skies outside, we were inspired by a garden slant to this adorable party theme.
For the dessert table’s backdrop, we chose to suspend this white distressed window frame, leaving the beauty of the greenery and flowers peeking through as the focal point. We hung it with heavy weight fishing wire from nails above our backyard gazebo. The frame would also work perfectly against a fence, indoor wall or against a backdrop covered in sheet moss!
To add softness to the dessert table, we selected this sweet ruffled white tablecloth and then added a burlap runner for texture.Bright pink roses and white hydrangeas were displayed in birdcage centerpieces for added softness and color. An adorable "2" standee in the party’s colors was set in front of the table for color, also doubling as a great photo opportunity for party guests.
The centerpiece to our dessert table was a simple naked cake adorned with fresh flowers. While we love a decorated cake, simple cakes like this one with an added layer for height as not only beautiful, but affordable. We also served cupcakes in personalized cupcake wrappers, which are often preferred treats by younger party guests and colorful macarons which are loved both by children and adults. Our desserts were served on tea cup dessert plates with simple pink and light blue napkins dressed up with small white doilies. To recreate the napkins, simple tape a small doily around napkins and display on a silver platter (this one we found at our local dollar store!).
For children’s seating, we opted for small, indoor play tables covered in a pink polyester tablecloth. They were the perfect size for our little 2 year old party guests. Personalized placemats added some needed color to our little table and then we put out tea cups and saucers for some added fun that we sourced at our neighborhood thrift store.
We hope you were able to get some Tea-riffic ideas for your next tea for two birthday party!!
