Looking for a special way to celebrate a special birthday? How about throwing a "Hang Ten" Surf party?!! This would be a great theme for any age or event you are planning, just add some tubular ocean waves and you are ready to celebrate aloha style!
To create the backdrop, I layered brightly colored wave standees in differing sizes behind the table and hung a life preserver above the table. I was able to customize the large 24" cardboard numbers to match the red and white colors on the life preserver. This is a really wonderful feature that Shindigz offers! Lastly, I placed a 6' cardboard surf board on top of the table before adding all my desserts.
These cherry sour gummies reminded me of life preservers, so I used them as toppers for my store bought strawberry vanilla cupcakes.
School House Bakery made these adorable surf board cookies. Look closely and you will see some surf board cookies even have shark bites! I crafted my own Hawaiian cake plate by hot gluing a bamboo plate to one of the coconut beverage cups.
The shark personalized centerpiece is also very versatile, use it to anchor balloons, hold flowers, or sweet treats. To recreate this look, place a piece of floral foam in the bottom of a beach pail, stick luau lollipops into the foam, and cover foam with paper shred, netting, or tissue paper. Then insert the beach pail directly into the top of the centerpiece. Place on table for guests to enjoy!
