Rookie Year First Birthday Party Idea

Brittany Schwaigert | JUNE 23, 2017

It’s summertime! And you know what that means….baseball! I’m going to show you how to really hit a home run with this new theme from Shindigz! One of the most important birthdays in a child’s life is baby’s first birthday. And if you have baseball fans in your house, how perfect is a Rookie of the Year" party? Or, another spin would be "Max’s Rookie Year."

I love the design of these party supplies because they call to mind that classic All-American pastime with traditional red, white, and blue colors and fun pinstripe details. It’s got a little bit of a retro flair. And what better location to have a baseball party than at an actual baseball field! Check out your local park, or even your local church or school to inquire about hosting a party at one of their fields. I love an on-location party. You can even play a game while you’re there.

Start your Rookie of the Year party design with this FUN Rookie Year table top stadium prop! It’s almost 4 feet long, which makes it the perfect backdrop for a 6 foot long party table. It can be personalized with your child’s name. And the best part, as with so many Shindigz props, you can keep it for the kids to play with later!

To dress up your party table, choose a red polyester table cloth and top it with a striped navy and white cloth. I love these fun oversized baseball glove balloons. They look great on either side of the table.

At your baseball party, you really need popcorn (and maybe peanuts too)! You can elevate your simple red and white striped popcorn box with a personalized Rookie of the Year sticker. Serve them on a simple red cake stand.

Baseball cupcakes are a breeze to make! Simply purchase or make white iced cupcakes and cut Twizzlers Pull and Peel brand candies to make the lacing of the baseball. Top with personalized cupcake toppers and you’re ready for your baseball-loving guests!

Send the guests home with some really fun favors like I did. These Dubble Bubble baseball bats are definitely a score! What kid wouldn’t love to have a bat filled with gumballs? I know I would be extremely excited about that! Shindigz also has these great cup options. For the big kids, try a baseball silly straw cup. And for the littles, these sippy straw cups are a great option for no spills!

Make your Rookie Year favor boxes the hit of the party by adding your little slugger’s picture and name and then fill them with take home toys like baseball keychains and soft baseballs. I added a little bit of red bag shred to my favor boxes to make them extra cute.

If you need a fun centerpiece idea, these personalized Rookie Year centerpieces are easy! Add an inflatable baseball on top and some red gossamer and you’ve got an awesome centerpiece! I used mine on the ends of the table as bookends.

Now you’re ready to knock your baby’s party out of the ballpark!!
