Peanuts Birthday Party by Jenny Dixon

BY SHINDIGZ | JUNE 27, 2016

Peanuts is a classic and timeless theme with so many creative ways to personalize it. For my son’s 10th birthday this year he asked for a Peanuts party. Charlie Brown is his favorite character, so we focused our design on the signature yellow with black chevron pattern of Charlie Brown’s favorite shirt.

The main dessert table featured an oversize yellow and black chevron design made from yellow wrapping paper and black corrugated cardboard. The birthday boy’s name was spelled out in large cheer letters spray painted yellow to match the theme. Oversize letters are a very fun and inexpensive way to add wow factor to any party!

These adorable Peanuts Friendship plates and napkins were the inspiration for the party!

School House Bakery did an amazing job capturing the whimsical elements of each character in these darling cookies and cupcakes.

Charlie Brown invitations, signs, and favor boxes were designed by Piggy Bank Parties. The chevron favor boxes were filled with individually wrapped butter mints.

We found Woodstock hanging out on the dessert table with some yellow rock candy sticks.

Silver Mylar balloons let everyone know that the birthday boy was turning double digits! The party space was filled with yellow, black, and latex balloons as well as yellow and white striped Mylar balloons and Mylar speech bubble balloons.

For favor bags, these red gift bags reminded me of Snoopy’s doghouse. To personalize each bag, I printed out speech bubbles with each guest’s name and attached them to the gift bags.

Since Snoopy loves playing hockey and flying planes, guests received a hockey pencil, airplane glider to assemble, and a Red Baron Flight Notebook.

Need a good game idea? Kids love this guessing game. Just fill a jar with candy and have kids guess how many (in this case) gumballs are inside. Closest guess wins the jar filled with candy!

It’s hard to believe my son is in his double digits now, good grief! I am so delighted that Peanuts and the gang were here to celebrate with him!
