This year I knew I wanted to plan a little get together for Mother’s Day. When I started to plan it out I asked myself what would most mothers want for Mother’s Day? I knew all I really wanted was a quiet night where I could sit and talk with some girlfriends and eat a meal without being interrupted by the kids. That to me sounded like a little piece of paradise, which is how I came up with my Moms In Paradise theme. Not to mention the tropical vibe is so popular right now with pineapple parties everywhere these days. Plus coming into the summer months there will be plenty of Luaus to go around.
I gathered up 5 of my mom friends and asked them to pitch in a tropical themed dish for dinner, this helped cut back on the costs for me and allowed everyone to get a little creative. I took care of setting up a beautiful table scape for us to enjoy along with some refreshing drinks with their own tropical twist. My favorite piece from the party was the tiki bar used to show case all the mom themed drinks like the Bahama Mama & the Mango Momtini. I customized some stemless wine glasses from Shindigz to say mom juice which was a really cute touch. I also offered up a refreshing Coconut Cooler by mixing coconut water with some fresh fruit and served it up in fun coconut cups. Don’t forget your umbrella!
If you’re planning a tropical themed party this summer try putting together some fun lawn games for your guests to play. I broke out the limbo set to get everyone loosened up before we ate but you could also do a flamingo ring toss using lawn flamingos and pool rings or even some pineapple bowling. Just have fun with it!
