Throw a Fun Christmas-Themed Girls Night!
I have such a fun party to share with you this month! I wanted a fun Christmas-themed girls night idea to kick off the holiday season. To make it a little different we celebrated with a not-so traditional Christmas tree, some delicious margaritas and a pet llama. I’m calling this one Mistletoes & Margaritas!
What do you think of when you think of margaritas? A fiesta, right? I sure do! So that was my take on this party when it came to the décor. I incorporated lots of fiesta-themed elements but gave them a Christmas twist. We drank cranberry margaritas; we trimmed a cactus Christmas tree and Santa flew in on a pet llama to hand out the gifts.
For food, I went with Mexican appetizers like taquitos, mini tacos and jalapeno poppers. I served up some chips and guacamole displayed in a margarita glass. So fun! I set the table a little bit more casually with a cute llama centerpiece and a runner made of Christmas ornaments. Pink bow napkins and gold silverware mixed with the fun colors of the margarita glasses tied it all together. I used red seat covers to help bring in the feeling of Christmas. Our Christmas tree was a collection of three cardboard cacti decorated with multi-colored lights and a few ornaments. I wrapped a couple of presents and even found a few llama-themed boxes – a perfect fit!
The backdrop was a colorful balloon garland using red, white, two fun shades of green and a touch of hot pink with a Mistletoe & Margs balloon wall. Some peppermint and candy cane balloons along with custom Hershey's Kisses candies and Fa La La La La candy bar wrappers brought in the holiday aspect. Cupcakes were displayed in colorful margarita glasses and topped with cactus meringue cookies adorned with Christmas lights. I had a few custom cookies made to match the theme and it all came together perfectly.
My girlfriends and I had such a good time sipping our margaritas, tossing some confetti and exchanging a few gifts. I’m thinking this just might be a new holiday tradition! Merry Cactmus!
