Indy 500 Racing Party by Erin Dove

Hello Party Planners! It’s Erin, back again from The Blue Eyed Dove. Memorial Day is a huge holiday weekend in Indiana. Not only do we celebrate the unofficial start to the summer season, but we also celebrate one of the most popular sporting events held in our state, the Indianapolis 500! Each year people come from all over the country to watch the race, or create their own race watch parties at home. Shindigz has all of the party supplies you’ll need {and more!} to host the perfect Indy 500 party. Today, I’ll share some of my favorite products with you!

Any type of a race-themed party would not be complete without some checkered flags. For this party I used checkered flag table skirts, a banner, and several flags.

I topped my tables with a racetrack runner and a few orange cones. If the orange cones don’t make this look like a real racetrack then I’m not sure what will! I also used plastic tire centerpieces for some additional décor on the tables.

For each place setting I used a red charger, topped with a checkered plate, black cutlery, and checkered and white napkins.

The winner of the Indy 500 celebrates with a glass of milk, so I also added these cute milk bottles. Which you can have personalized too! If your guests aren’t milk drinkers they can choose a plastic race day cup {with an orange straw} instead.

Other race party must-have décor included actual cars. I placed these toy cars around both tables, and centered a giant race car on the wall above my food table.

A party isn’t really a party without balloons! Shindigz has Indy 500 balloons, and checkered flag balloons both perfect for this party.

Lastly, my food pit consisted of race must-haves: chocolate covered donuts, veggies, milk, some carbs, and cocktails.

All of the essentials needed to throw the perfect Indy 500 watch party! Drivers {and party goers}…start your engines!!!!
