I love a birthday party theme that can be used for boys OR girls! And do you know what every kid loves? ICE CREAM! This brand new theme from Shindigz is guaranteed to keep your little ones of any age happy and entertained! The color palette of red and blue adds a little bit of retro element to the design and makes it nostalgic for parents as well!
My ice cream party was held at an adorable Cupcake Bakery and Ice Cream parlour, Smallcakes Collierville, that’s new in my town. I couldn’t wait to get in there and try out their flavors! And I know that any kid would love to have their party there!
My party design uses this extra fun Ice Cream Parlour Photo booth background as my party backdrop. People always ask me how I get my backdrops to stand up. Well, this one stands up on its own and that makes it the perfect party backdrop! To coordinate with the party palette, use not one, but two fun polyester tablecloths to give it a fun layered look. On either side, these 3D Ice Cream cones make a fun addition to the table!
Nothing goes better with an ice cream party than hot fudge cupcakes! Smallcakes makes these fabulous ones that coordinate perfectly with the backdrop!
I had a little fun making my own party treats as well. I bought some mini ice cream cones and then simply snipped a piece off the bottom and stuck a bamboo skewer and a fun paper straw into the bottom and displayed them standing up! Just keep them frozen until right before party time. In addition, you don’t need to spend a fortune on fancy cake pops when you can make your own version! To create mine, I simply took a mini waffle cone (which I cut down a little) and added a sprinkled donut hole on top, added a little bit of chocolate melts and you’ve got a fancy dessert that looks like it took hours!
Send the kids home with all kinds of personalized goodies too! I filled these clear tubes with Sixlets, but you could also fill them with ice cream toppings like sprinkles or chocolate chips! Each child also had a personalized kid’s straw cup too! You can use these at the party, or just have them for a fun favor. And, if you want to make an ice cream float, these personalized bottle stickers look great on a simple bottle of root beer!
On the guest table, I was able to personalize all the partyware with my little guy’s name and picture! Even the chair backs had a personalized cut out of his name and cute face, which I simply taped onto these red chair bands. For a centerpiece, this tissue honeycomb Banana Split is a sweet choice. Kids LOVE seeing their faces on the plates! It’s so fun for them!
And the best part of the entire party? This kid sized Ice Cream Parlour! Seriously, HOW FUN IS THIS?? My little guy thinks it’s the best thing that ever happened to him. It comes with all kinds of treats to play with and you can even personalize the top with their name! The kids will be serving up hours and hours of fun play time with their friends. I’m happy to say that it has earned a permanent place in our playroom!
