Hugs & Kisses Valentine's Day Party Ideas

Can you believe we’re so close to Valentine’s Day? Wasn’t it just Christmas? I wanted to celebrate the day of love with my 2 daughters, so I set up the cutest Hugs & Kisses afternoon playdate. They each got to invite two of their closest friends and it was a blast! I teamed up with Shindigz to set the scene and fill the air with love.

I started my decorating at the front door, so as soon as the guests arrived, they were greeted by red glitter hearts welcoming them to the party.

The hearts came in a set of 20, so I had plenty to use elsewhere, like on the kids table as coasters. The kids table was decked out. The soft pink tablecloth made the white fuzzy stools pop! I stacked red dinner plates and pink chevron dessert plates to add an extra fun element to the table.

Every seat had a favor box that the girls would fill with goodies later. I made little headbands out of gold heart elastic and used them to decorate favor boxes. I love when something can double as a decor piece and a gift to take home.

All of the girls had their own bubbles, heart-shaped glasses, custom water bottles, fun polka dot foil napkins and hot pink silverware. I scattered clear jewels all around the table to add some bling and used a silk flower arrangement as the centerpiece.

On the left side of the room, I set up a kids corner with a small table filled with colorful pillows and a giant LOVE standee. This is where the girls snacked on Hershey's Kisses, blew bubbles and played the game "telephone". It was so cute listening to all their giggles!

For lunch, I made heart-shaped Nutella sandwiches, strawberry yogurt cups shaped like hearts and valentine-themed veggie straws. It’s easy to make the heart strawberries - pull the top of the strawberry off and cut a "V" shape out of the top. It's such a cute touch with hardly any effort!

After lunch and some playtime, we had a few treats. I ordered the kissing booth and when it was delivered, I was surprised at how big it was.

The idea came to me to use it as a display for my treats since I could fit a whole table inside of it. It really gave the party a wow-factor! The kissing booth is a great decor piece that can be used again and again at other events as an actual kissing booth or a cute photo op.

I started to set the table with these 3D LOVE letters and built everything else around them. We had cupcakes, cookies, rock candy and custom Hershey's Kisses all displayed on a sweet charcuterie spread.

Adding simple touches, like custom stickers on your candies, are a unique way to help pull the theme together. The tiny milk jars adorned with a heart-shaped friendship bracelet were everyone's favorite thing since all of the girls got to pick their own bracelet.

I also had customized heart fan faces for the girls to enjoy. They loved them and they were so cute to use for photos!

After we snacked on treats, I cleared the table and we had a good ol’ fashioned dance party.

Before the kids left, I filled their favor boxes with their water bottles, bracelets, bubbles, sunglasses and some goodies for the road.
