DIY Fall Mason Jars by Erin Dove

Hello Shindigz Party Planners and Crafters! It’s Erin Dove again, back from The Blue Eyed Dove. Thanksgiving is definitely one of my favorite holidays to celebrate. I love the food, family time, party decorations, scrolling through all the Black Friday store ads and of course all the food {I know I already mentioned that, but it’s worth saying twice!}.

Today I wanted to share an easy DIY craft with you that would be perfect to display on your Thanksgiving table this year.

1. Attach the paper leaves to the mason jar by adding a thin layer of Mod Podge. You can add one leave to the jar to keep it simple, or add multiples if you’d like extra color. Set jar aside for about 30-45 minutes until the Mod Podge dries completely.

2. Next, apply the gold paint to the rim of the mason jar. {I used a sponge brush to create a mercury glass effect.} Allow the paint to dry.

3. Once the paint has dried, fill the mason jar about 3/4 full with the candy corn. This way your tealight candle sets up higher in the jar illuminating the leaves. Then place the tealight candle in the center of the candy corn.

4. Lastly, for an extra rustic touch add the twine around the top edge of the mason jar and tie in a knot.

That’s it!

I ended up making two versions, one with several leaves on the top of the jar, and one with a single leaf.

Very simple, yet super festive!
