Dinosaur Adventure Party by Julie Verville
What little boy doesn’t love playing with dinosaurs!?!? I know both of my little guys are fascinated with the little creatures, and love playing make-believe whenever possible. We set up this dinosaur adventure party to ensure that all of the party guests had roaring good time!
As guests arrived at the party, they were greeted by an enormous dinosaur standee and personalized yard sign. Kraft paper balls were added around the base of the display for dimension as 3D dirt. This was a great photo op for guests as they entered and left the party! Plus, it definitely set the stage for the party’s theme.
The backdrop for our dessert and snack table was created using a simple roll of kraft paper and black acrylic paint. Inspired by the dinosaur footprints on the party decorations, we painted a track of prints across the backdrop vertically.
We chose a simple grocery store cake with green icing and grass details as we wanted to focus our party budget on the detailed sugar cookies. We added a toy T-Rex as a cake topper which doubles as a toy for the birthday boy after the party!
Our table’s feature was most definitely the "Dino Dig" sandbox we turned into an edible dinosaur fossil display. Sugar cookies were decorated to resemble dinosaur bones and displayed on top of sand, aka brown sugar for effect. Kids went nuts!
For other snacks, we served bulk Bugles, aka "Dinosaur Teeth" in individual favor bags with personalized labels. This is one of my favorite ways to serve snacks at a children’s birthday party; easy to grab and no sticky icky hands in the bowls!!
We hope you had a Dino-mite time looking at our fun party photos!!
