Bohemian and tribal influenced party designs are definitely on-trend, and we fell in love with the color palette used in this Sweetest Dreams theme for our recent birthday party.
We pulled our inspiration for the backdrop from the colors used in the dream catcher standee; pink, teal, ivory, white and golden bronze. Our DIY backdrop was created using only 2 items- yarn and a branch from our yard. To create the same look, simply pre-measure strands of yarn in your chosen colors and tie in knots around the top of the branch. The height of our backdrop was approximately 54" from the tabletop, just high enough to peak behind the centerpiece dream catcher standee, personalized with the birthday girl’s name.
For some texture and color contrast, we opted for this tiered burlap table skirt. To bring in some feather elements, we created this DIY paper feather garland by simply punching holes in the paper feathers and stringing a piece of jute cord through the tops; adhere to the tablecloth using straight pins at either end.
Guests enjoyed birthday cake and cupcakes served on bohemian paper plates using gold stamped wooden forks. The simple naked birthday cake was dressed up with succulent toppers. And, cupcakes were decorated with personalized wrappers and fondant butterfly toppers. When it was time to sing Happy Birthday to sweet Charlotte, personalized paper hats were passed out to the guests to make things even more festive.
For a simple snack, we served popcorn in individual clear bags with fun coordinating labels reading "Pow-Wow Popcorn". I love coordinating snacks with the party’s theme, and especially love individual servings for young party guests as they are easier self-serve options. Pink lemonade was served in personalized paper cups and water bottles were dressed up with personalized labels.
Guests enjoyed the beautiful weather and loved hiding and playing inside the decorated canvas teepee, which also doubled as a birthday gift for sweet Charlotte, shown proudly posing in her feather crown. For color and a touch of whimsy, we added dream catchers, pink tissue balls, kraft tissue balls and teal tissue fans to the canvas teepee base. When planning party activities or purchasing décor, consider items that you can use after the party’s completion
We hope you gathered some sweet inspiration for your next bohemian or tribal inspired birthday party!
