Summer Games Party by Brittany Schwaigert
I had so much fun with this party! I have so many great memories of watching the summer games as a child. We used to spend the summers with my grandmother and we always watched the games when they came on. I love watching the gymnastics and the swimming. My husband loves the soccer. I am looking forward to really introducing my little guys to the games this year, as they are just now old enough (5 and 8) to really appreciate it.
To get us in the mood for this international athletic competition, I put together this fun party to inspire you to throw a party for your little ones! It’s packed full of fun ideas. And want to know the best part? I did it ALL by myself with store-bought ingredients and treats! And, of course, with the help of Shindigz!
To also bring in the classic colors, I used rolls of gossamer to add table runners to the front of the table. I also used the gossamer in strips on the backs of my guest chairs. My chairs were covered in these fun white stretch fabric chair covers.
For snacks for the kids, I bought some Funyuns (rings) and Bugles (torches) and displayed them in these fun acrylic containers. I also served these clear candy tubes filled with gumballs in the colors of the rings. I personalized the sticker for the tubes, so that the kids could cheer on the USA! What a great favor for the kids!
And, we can’t leave out the medals! I made these "gold medals" out of Golden Oreos that I painted with edible food paint. I displayed them on top of some ribbon that I glued together to look like a gold medal.
