Shindigz Is Wendy Moyle's "Fourth Child"

Necessity spurred the invention of Shindigz, the online spin-off of Stumps. Wendy Moyle was swamped with work, charitable commitments and family activities - all while trying to plan her son's third birthday party. "By the time I got home and settled down at the end of the day, it was too late for shopping."

So, she designed a busy parents web site that caters to a wide variety of party planning needs. "People don't have enough time to go to 10 different party stores to find everything they need to make their party unique and fun," says Shep. "Shindigz is a one-stop shop for all kinds of party goods and also a great resource for information on having a party."

The site has full-time net representatives whose sole purpose is to help online visitors plan their party. "We take the time to really get to know the customer and help them fit a party to their needs. We can walk them through the whole event if they need that help or just point them in the right direction," says Wendy.

The Shindigz web site is divided into 27 "stores" that focus on different holidays and themes, ranging from bridal showers to cowboy-style parties. Recipes, menus, decorating ideas, and party planning information are all on the site. "Some of the thinking is already done for you, right there on the site," says Wendy.

She calls Shindigz her "fourth child" because of the large amount of work and time that went into developing and running the site. Still, she wouldn't have it any other way. "It's exciting to watch this business grow. Creating parties for people is a lot of fun."
