But though it looks nice and solid from a distance, I was a little surprised that the metal beams kind of holding it all in place were kind of flimsy. It was done probably on purpose to allow you to kind of clumsily slide up the glass and insert the candle, but it was a bit difficult to do and required at least two people to both hold the base, lift the spring-held top and the glass, while someone else slipped the candle inside and lit it. It's nice enough for the price, but I do wish they'd come up with a more convenient design for inserting and lighting the candle.

A little pricey for what they are.
These were cute, just cost too much.

Comments:
I bought this lantern for use in a western/comedy which my theater group performed for the school and community. It was perfect--especially so since it was to be used to "light the way" into a mine shaft. We put a battery operated tea light into the lantern and got the desired effect. It was light-weight and easy for the students to handle.

I liked these so much that I decided to keep these and put them on our patio for the spring and summer. There were a lot of guests that asked me where I purchased them. I told them and gave them your website.

We used these lanterns as centerpieces for a BBQ lunch we hosted for teachers at my daughter's school. They arrived on time, and were quite attractive. We told the teachers to take them home if they wanted to, and all were taken. Good purchase, instant ambiance.

This item is great especially for the money made durable real glass and made of metal. Only problem had hard time opening and closing to put in batterie operated tealight too small and hard to close back up. I was afraid of breaking glass. Going to use it in my yard with one of my zombies. I may purchase more. I also purchased the battery operated tealights that flicker.

Used as part of the table settings for a western themed birthday. They are large, real lanterns that take a tea light candle. They will be used many times !

Looks like the real deal. Tea lights fit perfect, but don't count on it for "real" light. Great as a centerpiece.

We used this as table decorations for our Western-themed business conference dinner that included line dancing. We inserted battery powered tea lights into them, and once we figured out how to open the lanterns, they worked great!

I used these for our son's wedding rehearsal. I think that these were the first things that folks noticed when the walked into the door. They were very attractive, and folks were asking me where I purchased them. A definate addition to the party. I was glad that I purchased them. They added to the table deocration just perfectly--not too heavy and not too light.
