    So assuming you put this on top of a cake and light it, do you have to worry that people eating the cake getting ill. Is it safe to eat the cake after or do you have to put something down on the cake under it to collect what sparkles off?

      There is no residue that comes off the sparklers. You can safely eat the cake.
