I don't have a real fireplace and wanted somewhere to hang Christmas stockings a traditional way. I wasn't able to find this last year, so after surfing the internet, I came upon 'ShinDigz', and ordered this. It was a little difficult to understand the directions though. Tried about three times, then figured it out. The pieces should be numbered or lettered to match numbers or letters in the directions, that would make it alot easier. I also found the cutting part awkward (the screen & fire logs), should have been perforated by the factory, so that you don't accidentally cut it crooked. Once its all done, it looks great. I even added a strand of white lights around the brick opening to make it feel like your looking at lit logs! The funny part... my cat likes laying in front of it, I guess she thinks its cozy!

Got this for the American Legion Childrens Christmas Party. Once you get it together it looks good. Make sure you don't destroy the box it comes in, as it is the top and bottom of the fireplace. Clips sent to us were not as shown on the instruction sheet. We used paper clips. The brick is not cardboard but very thin paper. Was difficult to put together, but once done - looks fine. It may not survive the children.

I was so happy to find something so inexpensive that reminds my of the fireplace we had when I was a child. My entire family got a kick out of it! Definitely a conversation piece that I may leave up year-round! The design for putting the bottom on is poor and we had to tape and staple it together, but otherwise it's very sturdy. Well worth the money!

I have wanted a cardboard fireplace for many years. Brings back memories of times gone by and I love the old stuff. I used the fireplace on one side of the front porch with stockings and mantle decor, a large chalkware cat, a tree and a large lifesized Santa. On the opposite side of the door a room setting with an old Santa sleeping in a rocking chair, feet on a foot stool, dreaming away. Thanks for the great addition to the old fashioned lo
