Top 3 tips to throw an exciting present wrapping party
Date Created: 12/08/2011
The holiday season is loaded with excitement, but it also comes with its fair share of mundane activities. Present wrapping is surely one of them, and the tedious process is one of the most least engaging tasks you'll have to undertake in the coming weeks. However, you can take some of the boredom out of your wrapping responsibilities by throwing a Christmas party where you and your friends can make the task a bit more enjoyable. Throw on some holiday tunes, bake some cookies and use the following tips to throw an engaging present wrapping bash. Best of all, this is a shindig that will require minimal preparation to throw together, making it a cost-effective excuse for a get-together.
1. Stock up on supplies. While you should encourage your guests to bring their own wrapping paper, bows and curling ribbon, you can add to the collective group of goods by providing gift bags, tissue paper and other holiday accessories for your friends to use. Last but not least, be sure to stock up on tape - with a large group of people wrapping present, a roll can run out very quickly, so be sure that you have enough on-hand to accommodate everyone.
2. Ambiance. Set up an iPod dock or a Pandora stream and play all of your favorite holiday tunes. You can also use Christmas party supplies like red and green mylar balloons, streamers and party centerpieces to jazz up the look of your home. If you're going to be serving some snacks or even a full-fledged meal, be sure to have party tableware, imprinted napkins and catering supplies to make cleanup much easier.
3. Hold a wrapping competition. You can throw a small wrinkle into your festivities by voting on who has the most efficient wrapping method. Create a small scorecard with rankings for speed, skillfulness and bow-tying skills. You can then award a small prize such as a cookie favor tin or mint tin favors to the winner to encourage everyone to take their present wrapping to the next level for your bash!
Christmas is just around the corner, and it's never too early to get your wrapping out of the way. Luckily, you can turn this mentally taxing activity into an engaging party theme that may become an annual tradition between you and your friends.
