A baby shower party is an unforgettable event in your favorite mother-to-be's life, but after socializing for awhile and letting the new mom open up all of her gifts, you may begin to experience a bit of a lull in the festivities. One idea is to encourage guests to bring a present for the mom-to-be and a gag gift for the dad. After all, parenting is a two person job, so your guests can bring a number of helpful and comical gifts for the new dad to help him get a jump start on his new parenting life. 2. A potluck. Combining a luncheon with your baby shower activities is a fabulous way to sample a number of delectable dishes. Be sure to have party tableware, catering supplies and imprinted napkins on hand to avoid the inevitable pile-up of dishes at the end of the bash. Enjoying a meal with a group of friends will help the shindig move along smoothly and give guests plenty of time to socialize with one another.
3. Party games. According to Parents.com, creating a game of baby shower bingo is a wonderful way to add excitement while watching the new mom open her presents. Create bingo cards that feature a number of baby shower gifts, such as strollers, sheets, toys and baby monitors, and have your guests cross off each one as you go along. Give a gift card to one of your favorite stores to the winner to add a unique twist to your gathering.
