Top 3 tips to host a birthday bash on the beach

Date Created: 03/21/2012

Top 3 tips to host a birthday bash on the beach. If your child's birthday is on the horizon, you have the added benefit of being able to plan it during the spring and summer when the weather forecast can work in your favor. While you could incorporate a few party themes and other engaging twists into your bash, you can use your environment to your advantage and give the kids the full spectrum of beach games and activities that they'll love. However, to make this feel like a real boy birthday party and not just another trip to the water, use the following party decorations and planning ideas to make it a memorable experience.

1. Volleyball. Teaching the kids the game of volleyball is a great recipe for fun in the sun, but it takes a lot more skill than people expect. To improve the game's accessibility to newcomers, consider bringing along a large beach ball. This will make it far easier to keep the ball going over the net consistently and getting a competitive game going. Invest in an inexpensive volleyball net that can set up quickly and attach a few mylar balloons to the top of the posts so the kids can spot your spot from anywhere on the beach.

2. A sand castle building contest. Bring along a series of shovels and pails and let the kids bring out their creative sides by holding a sand castle building contest. Split the children into groups of three and give them each the same amount of building materials. After an hour or so, the parents can give out prizes to the group with the most creative design. Small items like cookie tin favors and personalized chocolate bars could be the perfect rewards!

3. Party favors. To ensure that no one feels left out, assemble a selection of goodie bags that all of the children will enjoy. You can put a unique twist on the gift by giving each of the kids a pail and filling it with small candies, inexpensive toys or even a pair of flip-flops. These party favors have boundless potential, so be creative to ensure that the little ones have plenty of souvenirs to remember their day at the beach.

These boy birthday party supplies and a bit of creativity will help you to save money on an extravagant birthday celebration and give your son an unforgettable time for his special day.
