Top three tips to throw the perfect beginning of fall party

Date Created: 09/07/2011

Top three tips to throw the perfect beginning of fall party. While many people around the country are enjoying the last fleeting days of summer, autumn will be here before you know it! The first day of fall in 2011 is September 23, which happens to be on a Friday. If you've been looking for a fun and engaging theme party idea, the coming of a new season could be a fantastic way to show off your party planning prowess. Keep a few of these food, entertaining and decorative tips in mind to wow your guests.

1. The proper cuisine. Fall is all about comfort food and the rich flavors of freshly harvested fruits and vegetables, so use this theme to your advantage. There are countless dishes that you can work with, but try to take one ingredient and make an entire menu with it. For instance, you can plan your entire table spread around foods such as pumpkins or apples. The possibilities are nearly endless with this array of tasty selections and you can use party tableware and imprinted napkins to perk up the look of your serving area. Don't forget the hot apple cider! Simmer the tasty beverage with cinnamon and brown sugar so your guests can warm up and taste one of the best treats of fall.

2. Party games. The world is your oyster when it comes to party activities, so plan a few games based around fall accents. Create a scavenger hunt for your guests or simply break out a deck of cards and enjoy the beautiful, mild autumn weather. Since football season is just around the corner, you can throw around the pigskin in your backyard or set up a volleyball net. The possibilities are nearly endless, so take some input from your friends to see what they would like to do.

3. Decorations. A fall party already has a fabulous color palette to work with, so be sure to incorporate plenty of brown, orange, yellow and red into your setup. Fresh fruits and other accents are always a good choice and they can make a fantastic addition to your serving table. Inject some color with mylar balloons, personalized banners, streamers and other fall party supplies to continue your color scheme throughout your venue.

Fall is just around the corner, and with a few preparations you can create an engaging seasonal bash that your friends are sure to love.
