Top 3 last-minute additions to your wedding reception party

Date Created: 07/11/2011

Top 3 last-minute additions to your wedding reception party. Now that summer is in full swing, there are couples all over the country tying the knot in elaborate ceremonies. After they've said their vows, going to an underwhelming wedding reception party can be a bit disappointing for guests. If you're putting the finishing touches on your wedding reception, keep a few of these things in mind to ensure that your reception is the best party your friends and family have been to in years.

1. Decorative lighting. Ambiance is everything when planning a wedding reception, so if you're working within the constraints of a banquet hall, you're going to be subject to their current setup. To give your venue that extra bit of flair it needs, consider taping some rope lights and other string lights to the undersides of tables. This will create a wonderful aura that will spread out across the floor and create a whimsical layout that will impress your guests. Go for a combination of colorful streamers and white lighting to make those colors really stand out.

2. Custom party centerpieces. You've undoubtedly put some time and effort into your seating arrangements, so you can amp up your table spread by making some clever adjustments to your party centerpieces. Keep it simple by placing one object into the centerpiece that says something about everyone at the table. Whether it's their favorite stick of gum or a logo of a guest's favorite sports team, your attendees will be touched by your extra effort.

3. Personalized banners. To ensure that everyone knows where they're going after the ceremony, consider investing in a large personalized banner at your reception hall. Buy at least three of these for varying locations. You can place one on the road entering the venue and another in the lobby so that your guests know where they're going. As a final touch, you can place one banner above the bride and groom's table. Make it a bit more festive by adding some mylar balloons and confetti to the tables to have the perfect balance of opulence and vibrant color.

No matter how close your wedding is, these wedding reception party supplies will ensure that your wedding after-party truly is the best night of your life.
