Top 3 last-minute Super Bowl party preparations
Date Created: 02/03/2012
Now that the wings are ordered, the party invitations have been sent out and seating has been set, you may think that you have everything ready for your Super Bowl party. However, even the most thorough party-planners will miss a few things during their preparations, and you obviously want to wow your guests when they come through the door. Thankfully, you can keep the following last-minute additions in mind to make sure everything goes off without a hitch.
1. The bare essentials. While you may have stocked up on snacks, beer, wine and other tasty treats, the Super Bowl party supplies used to enjoy them may be lacking. Make sure you have plenty of ice, party tableware, paper towels, coolers, plastic silverware and anything else that will help the evening go smoothly. If it's especially cold and there's a bit of snow on the ground, simply put your beer and soda outside - just be sure to bring it in at some point during the evening so it doesn't freeze!
2. Football-themed decorations. One idea that is sure to gain approval from your guests is to make a few "penalty flags." Simply dye a few old socks or towels and tie them together at the ends to give your family and friends a safer way to vent their frustrations. You should also be sure to incorporate a few team-themed streamers, curling ribbon and mylar balloons. Thankfully, the Super Bowl participants have similar color schemes, which will make decorating your home with these accents far easier and cost-effective.
3. Invest in a delectable dessert. If you're known for your delicious brownie recipe, now is the perfect time to break it out. After indulging in chicken wings, sliders, chips and dip and other Super Bowl favorites, a sweet treat is a wonderful way to end the evening. You can give your dessert some added flair by investing in colored icing to draw Patriots and Giants helmets on each one!
The Super Bowl has reached the stature of an unofficial holiday throughout the country, so your guests are certainly expecting the best when attending your bash. By keeping these last-minute additions in mind and going with a few team-themed decorations, your guests will have everything they need to enjoy the biggest sporting event of the year.
