Throw a spring fiesta with a Cinco de Mayo party
Date Created: 04/11/2011
Now that the spring is here and you'll be planning a myriad of outdoor parties, in early May one holiday sticks out. Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday that honors the victory of Mexican forces over the French in The Battle of Puebla in 1862. It is a source of great pride and has been celebrated with delicious food and good times ever since.
Your Cinco de Mayo bash should be a festive occasion that features bountiful color and delectable fare. Whip up a batch of guacamole and homemade salsa as healthy appetizers. You can also set up a fajita station by offering a selection of steak, chicken and veggies so that your guests can build their own meal.
Decorations are one of the main attractions of your spring fiesta, so deck out your space with streamers, pinatas and mylar balloons for an easy splash of color. Use vibrant table cloths on all of your serving areas and use some colored lights around the perimeter of your tables for added sparkle.
Imprinted napkins, catering supplies and party tableware are Cinco de Mayo party supplies that will make serving and cleanup a breeze for the host.
