Smooth move We all know there are innumerable benefits of consuming fruits and vegetables. The Center for Disease Control reports that having such a diet is extremely effective in preventing diseases like type 2 diabetes and some forms of cancer. They are also probable deterrents of cardiovascular diseases and hypertension.

Even though we know they are good for us, we tend to neglect our earth-grown seed-filled friends, so get on a health kick this spring and throw a juicing party - where the blender is the guest of honor, and tasty, colorful concoctions are the main course.

Decorate your house with bright and vibrant colors to show that your party is a celebration of health and life. Yellow and green streamers will go great with party centerpieces made out of out of a cornucopia of pineapple, kiwi and cantaloupe.

Send party invitations in the mail or in an email blast convincing your friends to come. Use facts such as, "Did you know that according to the CDC, if you are thirty-years-old and exercise between a half hour and hour a day, you should be eating two cups of fruit and three cups of vegetables per day?" Also tell them to bring some of their own produce, and a blender or juicer if they have one.

Get your fruits from various sources. Now that it is getting warmer, farmer's markets will start popping up, so do your best to support your local farm. Some places specialize in selling exotic fruit, so find one of these vendors and pick up something that will expand your guests' vocabulary and palate, like feijoas or sapodillas. Nothing makes better party favors than dragon fruits and jujubes!

Your party tableware can include plates, forks, knives, peelers and cups. Keep the fruits and vegetables in different bowls so people can pick and choose what they want in their custom-made smoothie. For vegetable-based blends use a juicer, so that the drink is primarily liquid, whereas the fruit-based combos can be a little more chunky.

Add extra ingredients and get creative. Martha Stewart's website gives one recipe that contains papaya, mint leaves and ginger! You can also have mystery blends and play party games where you try to guess what fruits are in your drink.

For dessert make sweet tasting shakes from coconut milk ice cream. You can also cap the night off with blended cocktails or frozen tropical beverages like pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris.
