Reunited and it feels so good

Your college years were a coming of age process. The bond you forged with the friends you made during that time of growth, learning and crazy parties will undoubtedly last forever. Although you and your university buddies might have scattered to separate corners of the world after graduation, there is no reason why you have to wait every five years for a college reunion to see one another - throw your own get-together this spring.

Skip the impersonal email and social communications methods and send out paper party invitations with a picture from the good 'ol days on the cover - it will be a pleasant surprise buried amongst the bills and junk mail that your friends pull from their mailboxes. If they live a ways away, the added nostalgia might convince them to make the journey. Make sure you ask people to RSVP so you can plan accordingly, but include your email address for this so they do not have to send a return letter.

Personalized party supplies are perfect for this occasion. Try to find party tableware with a warm greeting on it and the year of your graduating class. A photo stand in of you and the gang will make a great decoration in the living room.

For music, blast tunes that were frequently played in your dorm, or from a band that performed a concert everyone attended back in the day. Make up your own party games that will help fill everyone in on your present lives. Tell each person to write an interesting and new fact about their life on a piece of paper, such as where they work or live and how many children they have, and then put the pieces of paper in a basket. People will draw them at random and try to guess who the trivia is about.

Make mini-scrapbooks as party favors and in the last few pages have everyone write their addresses - both home and email - in the back. This will encourage everyone to stay in touch and share pictures and current news.

Many of your friends will probably have children so make sure you clear out a room for the kids to play, and set up some fun activities. Depending on their ages, they might want to sit and do crafts or maybe play in the backyard, so make sure you have the proper gear. If there is a strong enough showing, set up a volleyball net, rekindle old rivalries and play a game.
