Prince William and Kate step out for first public appearance as a royal couple

Prince William and his new princess attended a lavish London charity gala in their first public appearance since the hoopla of the royal wedding. Kate, in her debut as the Duchess of Cambridge, wore a stunning pink silk gown that was complete with sequins and crystal beading, and was designed by noted British designer Jenny Packham, according to People magazine.
The royal couple attended a charity party to benefit the Absolute Return for Kids, which aids children in some of the most poverty-stricken places in the world. The royals were a huge draw for the cause, as the evening's attendees pledged an astounding $28 million to help the charity.
