Post-Emmy Awards bash looked to the stars for inspiration
Date Created: 08/30/2010
The stars were out in full force last night for the 62nd annual Emmy Awards, and the first stop on the party trail was the Governor's Ball held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, The Associated Press reports.
The theme of the party was Starry, Starry Night, where more than 3,600 guests filled the football field-sized dining room. There were thousands of tiny mirror balls hanging from the ceiling, with a 565-pound disco ball wrapped in a sun sculpture dangling above the musicians. There were also glowing spheres that represented each sign of the zodiac.
Attendees included Glenn Close, Tina Fey, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, and Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, among other members of the Hollywood elite.
Guests dined on dungeness crab salad, rack of lamb and dark chocolate decadence with smoked fleur d'sel on a chewy fudge brownie, the news source reports.
Reach for the heavens and throw your very own star party to brighten up the night.
For this event you'll want tons of balloons, confetti and other party decorations covered in stars.
Hang party curtains adorned with twinkling lights to help give the affect of the night sky dotted with stars.
