Planning Thanksgiving on a budget
Date Created: 10/11/2010
The Thanksgiving feast is the meal that most people look forward to all year. Although it can be costly, there are ways to host the perfect get-together without breaking the bank.
The San Francisco Chronicle has offered tips on how to have an amazing Thanksgiving dinner without having to shell out the big bucks.
One way to organize the perfect Thanksgiving party is to make it a potluck affair. Since you'll be having your close family and friends over for the big meal, why not ask them each to bring a different dish? You can take care of the turkey, but the other sides and desserts can easily be prepared or bought by your guests.
Don't be afraid to shop around when looking for Thanksgiving party supplies. You can save more money by selecting just a few prime side dishes instead of going with a large selection.
As far as decorations are concerned, sticking with traditional party centerpieces, such as a cornucopia or candelabra, will keep the atmosphere warm and pleasant.
