Paul McCartney to be honored at star-studded MusiCares gala

There are a host of events leading up to the Grammy Awards, but none is getting more attention than the soiree to honor Beatle great, Paul McCartney, as the 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year. According to MonstersandCritics.com, the sold out gala will take place two days before the Grammy Awards, so the party and much of Los Angeles will be flush with musical talent.
The award will honor McCartney's philanthropic efforts as well as his lifetime of musical achievements and the event is considered among the most prestigious in the music industry. The show will be hosted by Eddie Izzard and will feature performances by Coldplay, Foo Fighters, James Taylor, Diana Krall and many others.
