Oktoberfest brings strangers together to celebrate beer
Date Created: 09/16/2010
Munich, Germany, is the country's beer capital, and according to MSNBC, the city's beer halls are preparing for the annual Oktoberfest, when millions converge upon the city to enjoy the festivities.
The event kicks off with a parade of more than 6,000 participants, and every night for three weeks beer tents are packed with revelers. There's dancing, amusement rides, plenty of delicious Bavarian cuisine and of course copious amounts of beer.
Oktoberfest typically runs from the third Saturday in September until the first Sunday in October. It is a way for participants to enjoy a good beer while ushering in the fall.
Whether you're jetting off to Germany to experience the festivities firsthand, or sticking stateside, there's no reason one can't enjoy everything Oktoberfest has to offer.
An Oktoberfest party is a great way to bring together family and friends in a fun and cultural atmosphere.
Of all of the essential Oktoberfest party supplies, beer mugs are the most important, but don't worry, they can be filled with other delicious concoctions that are just as tasty as beer without worrying about the after effects.
A large personalized banner emblazoned with Oktoberfest in a medieval script will surely set the tone, and don't be afraid to turn your venue into a German beer hall with plenty of balloons and streamers in black, red and yellow.
So slap on your lederhosen and prepare for a fun filled Oktoberfest!
