Nick and Vanessa Lachey will soon be new parents

The wedding of Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo was one of the biggest events of 2011, and one of Hollywood's hottest couples has announced that they are expecting a baby sometime in the late summer or early fall. According to People magazine, Nick Lachey made the announcement on Live! with Kelly, on Monday, which he co-hosted with Kelly Ripa.
This will be the first child for either of the stars, and Lachey couldn't contain his excitement about the prospect of parenthood during his recent television appearance. The couple has decided to find out what the gender of the baby will be before he or she arrives, but plan to keep it a secret from the press until the big day.
