Liven up a kids party with a carnival theme

The carnival has always been an American hallmark of enjoyment and diversion. It is the epitome of indulgences that entertain us allow us to forget about life's stressors and inhibitions. Create this carefree atmosphere at your children's next birthday with a carnival theme party.
Set up party games that are traditionally played at a fair. Usually these challenges are a test of hand-eye coordination, such as a ring toss using a horizontal pyramid of bottles. The player gets three tries to get the ring on around the bottles. Use candy as party favors and use them as prizes for the games.
Other party supplies could include decorations such as balloons, streamer string and fun photo stand ins that kids could get their pictures taken with.
Hire a clown to do balloon animals, or someone with acrobatic skills who can put on a fun show. A magician would also be a surefire way to entertain your audience of little ones. Recruit a parent who has an artistic edge to do face painting as well. Also, due to all the activities going on, you might need some help running the show, so don't hesitate to ask a few other adults to function as carnies and chaperones.
