It's never too early to start planning your St. Patrick Day party!
Date Created: 01/31/2012
After Valentine's Day, the next upcoming holiday to show off your party planning prowess will be St. Patrick's Day, which takes place on March 17th. The holiday is a perfect chance to drink a bit of green beer, wear your favorite green apparel and break from the dreary weather of late winter. If you're looking to go all out with this year's bash, use the following tips to ensure that your venue is the preferred St. Patty's Day party spot for the foreseeable future.
1. Corned beef and cabbage. Even if your friends have had their fill of the signature dish of St. Patty's Day, you can put your own casual twist on it by giving your guests a chance to make their own sandwiches. Buy a bag of hard rolls, invest in some party tableware and put out a whole host of condiments for your guests to enjoy. Best of all, corned beef and cabbage is cooked simply by stewing away in a slow-cooker all day, giving you ample time to spruce up your home with St. Patrick's Day party supplies.
2. Deck out your venue in green. While your guests are going to be providing a bit of St. Patty's cheer with their green attire, there should be no shortage of the hue in your home. Consider installing green party curtains on your front door and dressing up your bar or serving area with green streamers, curling ribbon and a party centerpiece. You can also hand out a few St. Patrick's Day derbys that your friends can wear throughout the evening and work as fabulous party favors.
3. Hide a pot of gold. To throw a fun twist into the festivities, send your guests on a scavenger hunt to find a leprechaun's pot of gold. Create a list of clues and hide a small pot of chocolate-wrapped coins somewhere in your home. This will give your guests a fun and engaging activity that will certainly yield sweet results!
St. Patrick's Day is the highlight of the month of March and offers plenty of leeway to throw a truly personalized bash. Who knows, you may just make such a big impression with your friends that your get-together could become an annual tradition!
