Host a spring potluck party centered around health foods. Now that spring is finally here, you may be thinking about losing a few pounds to fit into your swimsuit this summer. However, if you're the kind of person who loves to experiment with spring party themes, it can be hard to avoid all of the delectable snacks and entrees that come along with your celebrations. But in the interest of your beach body and your overall health, you can encourage your friends to give this year's spring potluck party a nutritious twist. A get-together dedicated to healthy foods and natural ingredients is a great way to feel refreshed entering the new season. Here are a few tips to help pull off your bash.

1. Party decorations. Before any food is prepared and served, you should pay particular attention to the atmosphere of your gathering. A series of pastel hues is a great choice to create an engaging and jovial backdrop for your bash. Whether you're holding the party indoors or out, ring your seating area with colorful mylar balloons, streamers and other pops of seasonal color. You can even adorn your doorway with party curtains that you can re-use throughout the spring and summer.

2. A charming table spread. With your bountiful selection of healthy food selections, your table spread should be up to par as well. Start with an elegant party centerpiece to anchor the center of the table and bring out a few floral placemats to hold each bowl of food. With a spring-themed tablecloth in place, you can fill in the gaps around the bowls with small pieces of confetti or even a few flower petals to improve its dramatic effect.

3. Healthy cocktails. While alcohol won't do your waistline any favors, you can still bring out a few calorie-conscious libations to kick off the bash. There are a wide range of methods to reduce the impact of each drink, so start by investing in light fruit juices, tonic free of high fructose corn syrup and other healthier choices. You should also keep a few light beers on hand for those who aren't a fan of highballs.
