Hold a spring cupcake party to welcome a new season with sweet delights

Date Created: 03/29/2012

Hold a spring cupcake party to welcome a new season with sweet delights. With spring finally bringing its warm temperatures and beautiful weather to all parts of the country, you may be ready and raring to enjoy your outdoor patio with your friends and family. However, the month of April is known for its abundance of rain, so many of your party themes could be washed out. To err on the side of caution, make your next get-together with friends a celebration of sweet treats by hosting a cupcake party. Using a series of spring-themed party decorations and letting your friends go for the gusto when decorating their baked creations, you'll have many delicious treats to munch on throughout the new season. Here are a few tips to help the party go off without a hitch.

1. Baking necessities. Before you friends arrive, be sure to have as many baking supplies ready so they can mix up their recipes and pop them in the oven. Invest in cupcake mixes, frosting and sprinkles so your guests will have plenty of freedom to create a personalized cupcake. Additionally, you should pick up multiple baking pans so you can pop all of the cupcakes into the oven at the same time.

2. Decorative flair. As one of your first gatherings of spring, your home should be filled with festive color and an abundance of seasonal hues. Start by creating a serving table where you will display all of your cupcakes. A party centerpiece, curling ribbon and confetti sprinkled on top will create a wonderful backdrop for photos when your cupcakes are ready. You can also add party curtains to your doorways and use a personalized banner to adorn your wall to welcome your friends to your get-together.

3. Party favors. Pick up a few plastic containers at the grocery store so your friends can bring home their cupcakes and share them with their families. If you'd like something a bit more festive, personalized cookie tin favors are great tins that can hold all of your friends' baked goods. Best of all, they will be able to use it further down the line and will have a wonderful memento of your celebration.

Using these cupcake party supplies to your advantage, you can throw a wonderful get-together that will make the most of a rainy April afternoon and give your friends plenty of delicious baked confections to take home with them.
