It was a transgression that inspired political thought and open-mindedness - a great precedent for generations to come. Bring back these feel good days with a '60s theme party at your place.
Your party supplies should be wild and crazy colors that reflect the time's grooviness. Alternate the tones of your streamers and balloons from yellow and orange to pink and blue. For activities, do party crafts like tie dying. Make sure to remind everyone to bring a white t-shirt that can be transformed into the quintessential hippie garb.
Hang up beads in doorways as appropriate party curtains and dig through your old collectibles or go to a novelty store for lava lamps and other colorful lights that will make trippy patterns on your wall. Play feel good tunes from artists who solidified their place in rock history at the Woodstock and Monterey Pop festivals like Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane and the Grateful Dead.
