It's only a few days until the first day of spring, so as you look at the calendar of upcoming events, Earth Day may jump out at you. The yearly event takes place on April 22, and it's a wonderful chance for you and your friends to do your part to help the environment, and then reward yourselves with a celebration filled with vibrant party decorations and great party favors.

Start by coming up with a plan to help out your community, whether it's removing trash at a public park or going through your home and replacing a few of your old and wasteful incandescent fixtures. Anything you can do to limit your carbon footprint will help dramatically to improve the environment.

After a day's worth of hard work, you and your friends can fire up the charcoal grill and enjoy the beautiful late April weather. Use some Earth Day party supplies made from recycled materials and be sure to compost any leftover food you may have.
