Creating an enchanted forest theme at your wedding
Date Created: 02/17/2012
As you begin to make preparations for your upcoming nuptials, you may start to sift through bridal magazines and ask wedding planners about some unique layouts that will inform your decorative choices. An enchanted forest party theme could be a wonderful setup for your wedding reception that will combine myriad natural accents with a soft lighting scheme that's ideal for your ceremony. There are many ways to design your setup and HGTV has a few tips that may make the process a lot easier.
1. Ambient lighting. If there is one factor in your decorations that needs particular attention, it's your lighting scheme. Tissue paper lanterns are an elegant way to provide soft lighting in your venue and they won't break the bank. Consider placing a few of them on the ceiling and wrapping string lights around the space as well. HGTV also suggests surrounding these lights with faux white tree branches. This will create the mixture of classic wedding elegance and can help adhere to your theme.
2. Floral centerpieces. Party centerpieces are one of the quickest and easiest ways to decorate your guests' tables, but you can give them a unique twist. Stick with natural accents like white potted flowers and place them on top of a glass dish. You can then take rope lighting and loop it around the bottom of the base - this will create a whimsical aura around your centerpieces that will add a vibrant touch to your reception.
3. Fill in the gaps. When you have the main features of your wedding reception set, you can then fill in the gaps with colorful mylar balloons, lighted trees, streamers, candles and anything else you'd like to include. You can also incorporate a few butterfly decorations as a finishing touch on your guests' tables. These enchanted forest party supplies are delightfully simple ways to add subtle pops of color to the space.
You don't have to pay hundreds and possibly thousands to hire a wedding planner when you can do it yourself. It's surprisingly easy to throw together a wedding reception when you have a clear party theme in mind. By using a combination of inexpensive party decorations and a few natural accents, you'll create a layout that your friends will be talking about for years to come.
