Breast cancer fundraiser to raise money to fight the disease
Date Created: 09/17/2010
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is in October, and many events across the country are being planned to honor the memories of those who lost their battle to the disease and to celebrate those who have beat it.
Middleboro, Massachusetts, resident Charlene McCarthy is planning a breast cancer fundraiser for October 2, and is hoping to raise funds to help battle the disease, South Coast Today reports.
McCarthy is raising money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk which is held every summer. She is getting a head start this year and said that she will continue to participate and raise funds for breast cancer research until a cure has been found.
Breast cancer is a serious disease that affects millions of women all over the world, and the more people that know about the illness, the more people will work to find a cure.
Hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness party is an excellent way to help raise funds for research and to educate people about the disease.
To make it a light-hearted affair, decorate in the signature color of the breast cancer movement - pink.
Breast Cancer Awareness Party supplies like balloons, streamers and pink ribbons can create a warm, inviting atmosphere for your guests.
Serve sweet treats like pink ribbon cookies and cupcakes, but make sure to have plenty of party tableware for everyone.
