A few tips to throw a last-minute Halloween party
Date Created: 10/21/2011
Halloween parties usually require a boatload of effort when it comes to decorations and ambiance, but sometimes you'll be throwing together a party unexpectedly. If plans have changed or something fell through, there are a few items you should always have on-hand to throw a rocking Halloween party.
Go out to your local farmer's market to pick up a few bales of hay, pumpkins and gourds. You can easily set these up outside as a de facto seating area, and you can use the pumpkins to spruce up the look of your entryway. Create some ambiance inside by dimming the lights and putting some rope lighting on the underside of tables to create an eerie glow.
Streamers, curling ribbon and mylar balloons can provide a pop of color, and you can set up a serving area with finger foods. Throw a horror movie in your DVD player and put it on mute, then play some music in the background to create an engaging atmosphere on the fly.
Party tableware, party centerpieces and other Halloween party supplies are additions you can throw into the mix quickly to create a fun and festive venue in a pinch.
