A few tips for a pre-trick-or-treating bash for your little ones

Halloween is one of the most exciting times of the year for children, because let's face it, everyone they know is handing out candy! To make the occasion extra special for your kids and their friends, throwing a Halloween party before they head out to go trick-or-treating could be a great way to put the little ones in a festive mood. Aside from decking out your home with fun and engaging party supplies, you can plan a whole host of activities that are sure to start off your childrens' evening with smiles on their faces. Keep a few of these tips in mind when you're planning your Halloween bash.
1. A quick meal before trick-or-treating. There's nothing worse than trying to hit every house in the neighborhood on an empty stomach, so make sure your kids and their friends have a bit of extra energy to keep them going. A few small sandwiches and an assortment of beverages should do the trick, and you can use some party tableware and imprinted napkins to pull your decorating aesthetic together.
2. Party games. A Halloween party has plenty of opportunities for party games, so take some tried and true favorites and give them a holiday spin. Buy a bunch of mini pumpkins and hide them in various spots around the house and in your yard. You can then award prizes to the groups of kids who find the most. Another idea is to make a mummy! Split the kids into four groups and give them each a roll of toilet paper. One child will get to be the mummy and the other three will try to wrap him up as quickly as possible. Whoever wins can get some personalized chocolate bars or other tasty treats.
3. A costume contest. Halloween is all about going all out and trying to make the most creative costume, so hand out some prizes to the kids who have the most innovative costume. But, you don't want the other kids to feel left out, so be sure to give them a little consolation prize for their efforts.
You can also use mylar balloons, personalized banners and other Halloween party supplies to give your shindig a dose of festive flair. A bash like this will ensure that all the kids are ready and raring to go when it's time to trick-or-treat!
