I couldn't quite put the product picture together in my mind with the product description. But after considering the space these mats would cover for the price, I decided to take a chance. So glad I did. The package received was smaller expected. Don't worry about that or the directions, which were a bit confusing to me at first - you'll easily figure it out once you get started. These mats are just made of tissue paper, but the cool thing about that is it allows you to position the edges so that the grass has a natural flow and can even be draped, rather than just flat grass with a straight edge. The mats start off as accordion-folded strips (which explains the small packaging) and the directions tell you to crumple each strip into a ball before spreading them out. It could be that you'll decide not to do that, but don't be afraid to give it a try - it really does give the grass a more natural look. Lastly, I read another reviewer who said she was able to fold them back up and re-use them. I guess that would be possible, depending on how you use them. I'm certainly going to try it, but even if it ends up being a one-time thing it was definitely worth it for my purposes.

Somehow I didn't notice it was paper when I ordered it. I was surprised when it arrived, but we were still able to use it. We stuck it around the outside of hay bales for a parade and a hay ride. It added lot's of color.

These were better than I even expected. I used them indoors on the center of tables with a pot of daisies on them for a picnic themed dinner for 150 people. I also used them on the stage around a picnic blanket and it looked like the blanket was in a field of grass. Everyone loved them! They are easy to store and can be reused again and again. I like them better than plastic grass mats because they are more realistic and full and they also because they are not as stiff.

I have used this grass twice now. One for a Golf Themed Birthday Party and the other recently at Easter. It looks really good on the tables under a centerpiece or desert table under platters etc. Got NUMEROUS compliments on it. Don't be afraid to crumple it up really good. It only makes it look better!!!

Comments:
I used this grass to create a pasture for a farm theme at a church event. it was so easy to work it around the sheep and fence posts. I was amazed at how easy it was to return it back to its storage formation, but it took extra time to straighten out some of the blades that folded over. If the material was just a little thicker, I think that problem would be eliminated. If I store it carefully, I will be able to use it over and over, just as long as I display it in an area where no one will step on it. It worked perfectly for the fenced off pasture area, and was very reasonably priced compared to other types of artificial grass. Hats off to the person who cme up with this idea.

I had the privilege and pleasure of planning a garden theme for a friends 80th birthday...We transformed a room into a garden. The hallway entering the room had a white picket fence anchored with styrofoam covered with "the grass" with flower stems as a walkway entrance into the garden...The product was very attractive, user friendly, forgiving, extremely well priced, cost effective for what it was used for and went a long way...The quanity/quality and price matched my expectations!

Q:
can i cut this to make it smaller?Asked on 3/7/2011 by love to party from NY2 answers
A:
This set is sold in twelve - 18 inch x 30 inch pieces. If you cut these smaller you may further damage since these are simply made of tissue paper.Answered on 3/8/2011 by csrVERIFIED BUYER
A:
I don't think it would work well if you tried to cut it to make it smaller....the bottom of the grass mat is honeycombed together - like an accordian - so I'd be afraid that if you cut it, the whole segment might fall apart - BUT - it can be tucked together to be a smaller size, if you want it to - you just wouldn't have to stretch the segment out fully.....I did this and used some of mine for smaller spaces, and it just looks like nice full green grass! Hope this helps you out.
Cheers.Answered on 3/15/2011 by Sandra G. from Northern Minnesota
