I actually used these table covers wrinkled up under the small sphinx and the bright gold really made the sphinxes pop! I was also impressed that the material was not at all flimsy.

I purchased 3 of these for a Hollywood party. These are paper and very shiny. beware if you use them ouside on a sunny day, WOW, talk about glare! I also purchased the black star fabric and ran that down the table as a runner and that cut the glare quite a bit. These are also very light weight so you may need to weigh them down if you used them outside on a breezy day. These do add some glitz and glamour to the party though.

We used this table covering for a Mardi Gras-themed dinner party. We were very pleased with the color and shimmery gold color it added to the table, made quite an impressive sight! Another reviewer was disappointed, but I believe she was hoping for a table cloth, rather than a covering. There IS a difference, and the description in the catalog is accurate for what you get. If you want more of a protection for your table, put a regular table cloth underneath. We found it to be sturdy enough for our purposes, which was to provide a glitzy covering for the table we dined on.
