So we bought the arch for our prom (our theme was masquerade), and it actually worked out pretty well. However, the instructions are a little bit hard to understand. My suggestion (based off of our experience) is to use 5 people, not the suggested 3, which took us a little less than 2 hours. Also, it would be nice if there were a video of the instructions to go along with the paper of instructions, because a lot of the time we couldn't fully understand the instructions (and I'm pretty sure at some point we did something wrong because it didn't turn out exactly the way it was supposed to). Since almost everyone nowadays has a smart phone, having a video (and the link could be written on the page of instructions) would be very helpful because you could watch it right before you start to make the arch. Also, you definitely need to either put in a lot of support at the base (which we didn't) or somehow attach it to something (we taped the top of it to a line of lights which just happened to be hanging behind it).
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

terrific looking piece. substituted velcro for the foam tape that came with the arch so the arch could be taken apart, stored, and re-assembled for other events. recommend using sand weights or "brick" to weight the bottom as instructed.
