Use Black Shimmera to decorate everything from your tables, chairs or create breathtaking backdrops! The shimmera is transparent but, can be layered for a more opaque look.

Shimmera is not flame-retardant.

i would like to use this material to create swags for a backdrop..i didnt like the gossamer material (too thin or see through)....how see through is this material

  Shimmera is not as "se through" as gossamer however if you use lighting behind it, it may be easier to see through it. It is a heavier material. For samples please call our customer service dept.

If you cut this material into panels to hang on the wall - will the seams unravel, or do you think it would hold up for at least two days without sewing an edge?

  If using this Shimmera to cut hanging panels it may unravel if a raw edge is left. It may hold up for 2 days but we have no way of determining this as the sharpness of scissors is also a deciding factor on whether or not the edges will unravel quickly.

  It will ravel but you can run a line of glue, wait until it dries and then cut to it to make an edge. Or, using a sewing machine, you could zig-zag the edge but you will need a very fine needle so it doesn't puncture the fabric.

What is the best way to hang this material with? How do I attach it to the walls? Do you use double sides tape? What do you suggest?

  Tacking it up or draping it over an object is best. The material if hanging it will seem pretty heavy and double sided tape may be harder to remove off the surface as well.
